The Auction Doesn't End at Zero: Introducing "Make an Offer"
Whether you are hunting down a long-travel Polaris RZR, a built-out vintage rock crawler, or a fresh set of beadlocks, the thrill of the auction comes down to the wire. But anyone who has spent time turning wrenches or trading rigs knows that sometimes, a deal just needs a little more runway. Maybe the reserve wasn’t met, or maybe you missed the final countdown while you were out on the trail.
Today, we are changing the game on DirtHammer. We’re introducing Make an Offer—a brand-new feature designed to keep negotiations alive, eliminate the "tire-kicker" waiting game, and get more premium rigs into the hands of real drivers.

How It Works
We’ve built this functionality directly into our listing infrastructure to ensure it's seamless, secure, and fast. Here is how the workflow plays out on the dirt:
- Post-Auction Negotiation: If an auction ends and the reserve price isn't hit, the window doesn't slam shut. Verified bidders can now submit a direct offer straight to the seller.
- The 7-day Window: Once an offer is submitted, the seller has 7 days to accept or decline. No endless comment threads, no ghosting—just straight business.
- Locked-In Commitment: To keep the marketplace clean and professional, every offer made authorizes a payment hold for those 7 days, backed by the same secure framework as our live auctions.
Why This Wins for Sellers and Buyers
For sellers, this means your rig doesn't go cold if the live auction misses the mark by a few hundred bucks. You retain complete control over the final hammer price, with the power to decline a deal that doesn't make sense for your build budget.

For buyers, it gives you a second shot at securing a high-clearance machine without competition driving the price beyond your limit. You can look at the historical data, analyze the modification list, and put a fair number on the table.
Dropping Into the Platform Today
The "Make an Offer" functionality is officially live across the entire DirtHammer platform starting today. You’ll see the new option appear on all unsold listings.
Log in, check out the current inventory, and if you find a rig built for the way you ride, don't just watch from the sidelines—make an offer and get in the driver's seat.
