How it Works

Kawasaki KRX4 in the woods.

What's It Cost?

Fees

While other auction platforms and consignment programs charge listing or buyer fees upwards of 10 percent of the final sale, DirtHammer does not. Here's the breakdown:

Listing Fee — $45
  • Early birds get a special $45 listing fee that covers a professionally written auction listing by industry experts, extensive promotion, and access to hundreds of thousands of interested buyers from across the country!
Optional Professional Photography and Videography Package — $350
  • We work with the best photographers and videographers in the country to provide you with the the kind of media you'd be proud to hang on your wall. Why? Great photos sell great rigs! Photo shoots typically take about an hour.
Buyer's Fee — 4.5 Percent
  • We charge a buyer's fee of 4.5 percent of the winning bid price to the buyer's payment method on file.
Seller's Fee — 4.5 Percent
  • We charge a seller's fee of 4.5 percent of the winning bid price to the seller's payment method on file.

Buying

  • Looking for your next rig? Bidding on DirtHammer auctions is easy. Simply sign up, fill out a few details, and you're ready to go. Once you sign in, you can comment, bid, ask sellers questions, and more!

Payment Method

  • We ask that you keep a payment method on file with us as part of the verification process in order to protect sellers from false bids. We place a small hold on your card with each bid, and release that hold when you're outbid. It's that simple. DirtHammer does not and will never sell your information.

Drop the Hammer!

  • Don't want to wait for the auction to close? No problem. Most auctions feature a Buy Now price. Simply click "Drop the Hammer!" and the rig's yours! Winning bidders are expected to pay the seller the full amount within one week of auction close.

Selling

  • Ready to list your rig? We make it safe and simple! Start by signing up and telling us a few things about yourself. As with buyers, we ask that you keep a payment method on file as part of the verification process.

The Basics

  • Once you're signed up, you can comment on other listings, bid, ask other sellers questions, and, most importantly, submit your machine for approval. We'll need to know some basic information like year, make, model, and mileage. DirtHammer only accepts vehicles with transferrable titles.

Upload Photos

  • Upload a few photos of your machine. Show us the good, the bad, and the ugly. Remember, honesty is the best policy when it comes to buying and selling your machine. We want to see the overall condition, including any battle scars your ripper's earned along the way. Include photos of the front, rear, both sides, and interior, along with any aftermarket parts you want to show off.

Submit Your Listing

  • Once you submit your rig, our auction crew will go over the details and decide if your machine's ready for auction. We'll work with you to refine your listing to make sure you have all the photos, videos, and descriptions you need to get top dollar for your pride and joy.

It's Auction Time!

  • We'll work with you to get your auction live as soon as possible. New listings go live Monday through Friday and last seven days.

After the Auction

Next Steps

  • We'll put the high bidder and seller in touch along with a special thank you from our partners for helping make DirtHammer great!

Escrow

DirtHammer KeySavvy escrow page
  • We've taken the guesswork out of paperwork and transferring money by partnering with KeySavvy, an online Escrow service. KeySavvy works with buyers and sellers to make certain your transaction is safe and secure. While payment and title transfer methods are ultimately up to the buyer and seller, we strongly recommend using KeySavvy or a similar escrow service.

Shipping

  • Need help getting a machine to its new home? No problem! We're working with Dispatch Dudes, a company that's no stranger to moving valuable machines, to bring you the safest vehicle shipping at the best prices. Check them out!

GO RIDE!

  • After that, there's nothing left but to go ride! We'll see you on the trail.
