DIRTHAMMER SAYS
This 2025 Honda Talon 1000X Fox Live Valve is a brand-new unit with a very well curated list of mods that make it a standout trail rig. We've waxed lyrical about every Talon we've had come through our site, and this one kicks that up a notch by being brand-new. Our friends at ATVs and More in Salem, Illinois modified this rig before it ever turned a wheel in anger, and all the mods are brand-new parts.
The stock Talon's Achilles Heel is its tiny stock wheel and tire combo. The 14-inch alloys aren't bad, but the tiny, 28-inch stock tires are simply too small. ATVs and More cured that with a set of gnarly 15-inch System3 SB5 beadlocks wrapped in a set of 32-inch System3 RC500 tires. We can tell you firsthand that a Talon on 32s is damned near unstoppable. They also threw on a TQR rollcage, a massive safety upgrade over stock, and a glass windshield to help keep the mud out of your lap. A set of four-point harnesses rounds out the safety mods. Up front, they bolted on a 4,500-pound winch with a synthetic rope, and a killer Talon emblem grille.
The 105-horsepower Talon has more than enough power to make short work of tight, wooded trails, and the narrow-track 1000X model is especially suited for eastern woodlands. With the bigger wheels and tires, it's the perfect weapon for the rocks and roots of big southern parks like Windrock in Tennessee. This is a Fox Live Valve model, which means it comes with Fox's excellent electronic suspension. The setup is seriously cool, sampling the ground 1,000 times a second and adjusting itself to conditions on the fly. With Live Valve and big tires, there's very little left to do to the chassis.
