DIRTHAMMER SAYS
The Beta 390 RR X-Pro occupies a sweet spot in the enduro dirt bike market. It's just a hair cheaper than the Austrian brands, a hair more hard core than the Japanese offerings, and in X-Pro spec isn't a full-on, hair-on-fire temperamental race bike. It's just about the perfect steed for a C-class hare scramble racer who wants the friendly powerband of a four-stroke mill. The 390 is widely praised as the Goldilocks four stroke in Betas lineup. It's got torque the 350 lacks, but won't rip your arms out of their sockets up top like the 430 and 480.
This one is extra attractive because it is fully street legal in Virginia, which means you aren't committed to bringing a trailer and finding truck parking every time you want to go for a rip. This certainly isn't a cushy dual-sport mount, but it will let you connect trails and forest roads safely and legally. It has Rox Risers to move the handle bars up and forward, which makes standing way more comfortable for taller riders. It also sports Fastway Air EXT footpegs, which have burly grip screws and a platform to keep your ankles stable when you drop your heels. It also comes with an uninstalled Seat Concepts seat and an uninstalled radiator fan kit.
All together, this little ripper has $1,000 in aftermarket bits and has done its proper break-in hours. It is about as good as a slightly used bike gets, and is ready for the summer race circuit or group rides!
