DirtHammer COO Aaron Richardson's personal bike!
If you only have room for one motorcycle in your life and you absolutely need that bike to do everything, look no further than this 2024 Yamaha Tenere 700. DirtHammer COO Aaron Richardson bought this bike new last year and built it to be a bombproof back country weapon. It's ready to shred any BDR in the country, tackle the Trans-America Trail, or for Sunday rides on any surface. It has a nice list of mods that were chosen to make it a better backcountry camping machine. It wears bits from Camel ADV, Nice CNC, Tusk, and the Yamaha parts catalog.
The T7 debuted in 2020 as Yamaha's first modern foray into the middleweight adventure category, and it was an immediate hit. The 689cc parallel twin's torquey delivery is well-suited for off-highway work, but its 70-ish horsepower is more than enough for long highway blasts. And, because Yamaha, the CP2 mill is as reliable as time — there are documented cases of these engines going 150,000 miles with basic maintenance.
Richardson used this bike on BDRs and the occasional trail rip, so don't expect cosmetic perfection. It has been down at walking speed, and has a few scrapes and a crack on the rear plastic fairing. The damage is all small and purely cosmetic. The bike will include all OEM takeoff parts, but reinstalling the stock exhaust will require welding the stock exhaust hanger back on. It comes with an extra Yamaha "low" front saddle. Aside from the exhaust, the engine, drivetrain, and suspension are stock.
