We are auctioning Gray Leadbetter's Kyle Chaney-built Can-Am Maverick X3 race car from the 2024 Championship Off Road season to benefit the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation! Gray is an ace behind the wheel, and had Chaney build this ripper to the exact spec he used to win the 2023 Championship Off Road season.

Before we jump in on the build, a little background on Gray Leadbetter and Kyle Chaney, if you're somehow unfamiliar. Gray is a self-taught racer who is the first woman to win a Pro class race in Championship Off Road.

She hopped on a Yamaha PW50 as soon as she could walk and never looked back! She's a regular on Travis Pastrana's Channel 199 YouTube channel, whipping everything from side-by-sides to trophy trucks. When she isn't on screen, she's running a full commitment in Championship Off Road. She got her big break in 2019 at the tender age of 14, and since then has run in Americas Rallycross and sprint cars. In 2022, she joined the Pro Spec class in Championship Off Road, notching 12 straight podiums over two seasons. In '24 she campaigned for Jimmie Johnson in Extreme E before heading back to the Champ Off Road circuit. To say Gray's on the up-and-up would be a terrible understatement.

She had this car built by Kyle Chaney for the '24 Champ Off Road season. Chaney is a current Can-Am Factory Racing Dakar Rally driver, a four-time UTV Hammers Championship champion at King of the Hammers, AND he's the first driver to ever win a 4400 Unlimited Class race overall in a UTV. This car is an exact copy of the Maverick he used to win the 2023 Championship Off Road title.

So, that's the pedigree, now for the car itself. Chaney built the chassis entirely from scratch. It's all welded steel tube, and retains very little from the original X3. The custom chassis wears a long roster of CT Race Worx goodies, while the suspension is from Double E Racing. We'll give you the full build list below, but it includes: a Sparco containment seat and harnesses, Vision wheels, a Tapp primary clutch, a Rugged helmet pumper, Hayes brakes, and it's tuned to run VP UTV96 fuel.

This insane build is being sold NO RESERVE to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to eliminating childhood cancer. Gray already donates 10 percent of her sponsorship earnings to the foundation, and we're honored that this auction will add to that total. Gray's Can-Am is absolutely ready to rip, but was raced hard and has the scars to prove it. As detailed in the gallery, it has a few pieces of broken plastic, a dented slider, some missing powder coat, and some residual dirt from competition.
