We've always loved the Polaris RZR XP1000 platform for two big reasons. First, it is as accessible as it is capable, with adequate-but-approachable power, a solid chassis, and an affordable sticker price. The second reason is that it makes an awesome platform for a beastly trail rig build.

This 2021 Polaris RZR XP1000 Premium is the latter. The seller chucked a long roster of parts at this thing to make it a nearly indomitable rock crawler. The highlights of the build include High Lifter portal axles and extended SuperATV A-arms up front and radius rods out back. The longer arms front and rear add a couple inches to the track width, and the portals poke the tires out even farther. As a result, the rig is much wider than stock, making it more stable at speed and in the rocks.

The RZR XP1000 lineup was introduced in 2014 and promptly reset the sport side-by-side market. The machines proved so popular that Polaris left them alone until 2024, when it launched a ground-up redesign of the platform. This rig is from the last couple years of the original design.

That means you get a super reliable, naturally aspirated 999cc parallel twin good for 110 horsepower. Power gets to the ground through Polaris' PVT automatic with high, low, neutral, and reverse. The XP1000 has a selectable 2WD/AWD transfer case.

The seller has put almost 3,000 miles on this trail build, and it bears a few scars and witness marks from use. The damage is cosmetic, but notable. Even with a thick build sheet, this rig is an affordable alternative to an unmodified new RZR, and represents huge savings over doing a similar build from scratch.

NOBODY'S PERFECT

This rig was built to be a weapon on the trails, and it has been used that way. There are plenty of cosmetic scratches, scrapes, dings, and bruises from a life spent off-road. But if you don't mind some character, this is a screaming deal on a well-built machine.
