This 2007 KTM 950 Super Enduro R is a pure off-road hooligan bike built to be as fast, loud, and loose as possible. If you asked KTM why they built it and who it's for, they'd probably kick out some tired line about showcasing the pinnacle of their off-road technology for skilled off-road enthusiasts interested in pure speed. But the bike's a bit too, erm, focused to just be a long-distance ADV bike with some teeth, and it's way too big to be useful as an enduro bike for most mortals.
And so, this 450-pound, 100-horsepower, carbureted monster, which does without luxuries like a tachometer and fuel gauge, boils down to a beautifully built and engineered exercise in holding one's beer. In other words, it's perfect.
The engine is KTM's legendary LC8 v-twin, which started life in the Dakar-conquering KTM 950 Adventure. It's been bored and stroked and tuned in the 25 years since, but still pulls duty in KTM's biggest adventure bikes. It's one of our all-time favorite motorcycle engines, thanks to its electric power delivery, durability, and incredible note.
The chassis is a version of KTM's signature chromoly trellis frame, with 10 inches of suspension travel front and back from WP, the Austrian brand's in-house suspension supplier.
This example has under 2,000 miles on the dial from new, and is a one-owner bike. It's in excellent mechanical condition, and has very few true cosmetic flaws. It comes with an aluminum extendable dirtbike stand and a new Pirelli MT-21 rear tire on a spare stock wheel.
