NO RESERVE!
Milwaukee, WI
The BMW R1100GS is the predecessor to the legendary R1150GS and R1200GS that defined the modern adventure bike. The 1100 is older, slower, and less technologically advanced than the newer machines, but it introduced the world to their iconic styling, and if the 1100 is known for anything, it's reliability.
This 1996 BMW R1100GS is proof positive that these bikes are happy to absorb huge miles with very little drama. It has covered 71,600 miles, but has a long list of recent maintenance and new parts. We're fully confident it is ready for another 71,000 miles without much issue. It's got its fair share of blemishes, but none of them are more serious than the odd cracked plastic panel.
The GS lineup was born in 1980 with the R80 G/S, which is widely considered the first adventure bike. The thing promptly went out and destroyed all comers at the Paris-Dakar Rally. With multiple wins at the African rally under its belt, and a couple special-edition R100GSes to celebrate, the BMW boxer legend was more or less engraved in stone.
This is a NO RESERVE sale, so anything above the $1,000 opening bid could take it home. This is one hell of a bike, so make sure you hit the auction bell to stay notified when new bids come in!
