NO RESERVE!
This gorgeous 1981 Honda Trail 110 is a three-owner charmer with 2,048 miles on the clock, a clean title, and a fresh service. DirtHammer Chief Operating Officer Aaron Richardson snagged this little beast a couple months ago and immediately fell in love with it. He's running out of space in the home shop, so the little Honda is on the block at NO RESERVE!
The DH team will be at Barber Motorsports Park's Vintage Festival on October 9, 10, and 11, and they'll have the Trail at the booth! If you're near Birmingham, Alabama, come have an up-close look!
These little bikes are super fun to ride and work on, and they're simple and low-powered enough that they make perfect bikes for beginner or timid riders. With no clutch to contend with, just fire it up, stick it in gear and go. To shift gears, roll off the throttle, click the gear lever, and roll back on. It's the next step up from a 50cc scooter, but much more charming and engaging.
The Trail 110 is the descendant of Honda's legendary Cub lineup. The Cub is known as the motorcycle that mobilized the world outside of the US. On these shores, the Trail 110 and the Trail 90 that came before it were just cute beginner bikes, but in other markets they were important transportation devices for the proletariat. They're so reliable and rugged that rural mail carriers in Australia used them on their delivery routes. To this day, Aussies lovingly call the Trail 110s "postie bikes."
This Trail 110 is in excellent survivor condition. Its original paint has a deep shine, and it has covered just over 2,000 miles in its 45 years. There are a few scratches and scrapes here and there, but nothing more than cosmetic damage. It runs excellently, with a fresh carburetor clean and rebuild, a new sparkplug, and a new oil change. The tires are in good shape, the chain and sprockets look great, and the high/low range transmission works as it should.
