DIRTHAMMER SAYS
DirtHammer CEO Zach Bowman's personal truck!
This Chrome Yellow, mile-tall, grinning son of a gun is one of the coolest trucks we have ever been around. It might not be what you'd consider a traditional off-road vehicle, but this true Y-VIN Highboy begs to differ. With a granny-low four-speed, a divorced transfer case, Warn locking hubs, and a closed-knuckle Dana 44 up front, it's no slouch when the road gets technical.
We love this truck because it is an honest-to-God piece of farm equipment from the time before trucks had become family-hauling Cadillacs. This Highboy was purchased new by an Idaho farmer who used it as a workhorse. It bears the scars of a life of service, but has clearly been taken care of as an invaluable asset. It has its share of rust and dings, but is still remarkably straight for a lifelong farm vehicle.
DirtHammer CEO Zach Bowman bought this rig out of New Mexico, and shared the long drive back to his home in Tennessee with his dad. The story is a barn-find saga for the ages, and you can read about it on Hagerty's website. Grab the Kleenex before you do.
There's more to say about this truck than we can list here, so we'll leave you to check out the list of new parts and updates, as well as a word or two from Zach, below.
